The following are a few of the games to select from for the Battle of the Sexes:

The Countdown Challenge

It all begins with 4 players, one big wheel – and a clock! The wheel lists various challenges for the contestants to successfully complete. Whenever a player is up, the wheel begins spinning. When they want the wheel to come to a halt, they shout “stop!,” and their challenge is randomly revealed.

But wait! This is also when the clock starts ticking – and the contestant only has a limited amount of time to complete the challenge. Can they do it, and in the amount of time given? Fortunately, the audience is available to help accomplish this feat. The quicker the challenge is successfully completed, the more points received.

Whoever has the most points after 2 rounds, is the winner.

All of the challenges can be easily customized to accommodate the players once the demographics of the audience are known.

In It to Win It

Designed for either individual play, or with various-sized teams, for any age group. With a clock ticking for everyone to see, time becomes the enemy while players attempt to complete a physical challenge within a certain amount of time. Depending upon the age group, Doug chooses among a wide variety of physical challenges that are best suited for that particular audience. When challenges are attempted in teams, it is the ultimate form of collaboration and team building. The audience witnesses how individual members put forth every ounce of effort to support each other with the intent of conquering the physical challenge, and being victorious – it can be crazy, wild and exciting!

The Hunt Is On

The Hunt Is On is a unique game that invites the entire audience to be involved in a scavenger hunt. The audience is divided down the middle of the room, each side representing a team, after which a captain is chosen for each team. A large screen lists the different items to be discovered throughout the room for the teams. The good news: Doug makes sure in advance that all items are in the room.

Once the clock starts, time is of the essence. Each team will have the same time limit to find people in the audience who have the item, or who are the item. Mind you, if any audience member has an item or is the item, they can stand up, make some noise and wave their hands to bring it to a team member’s attention.

Team members will then bring the items or the persons to the front of the room to Doug’s attention. He’ll announce the item or person fitting the description on the list, and marks it as being “found” with the appropriate number of points for everyone to see. The first team to gather everything on the list, or score the most points before time runs out, wins.

The Hunt Is On game is great for team building, while also involving the entire audience, and can be played with any age group.

The Pyramid Challenge

The Pyramid Challenge (similar to the highly popular Pyramid TV game shows under various names for decades) begins with 2 teams, each comprised of 2 contestants. Both teams are shown six categories, the titles of which provide vague clues to their possible meanings. For example, the “I’m All Wet’ category would pertain to things found in water. Whichever team goes first, selects one of the 6 categories in the pyramid. Then, for up to 30 seconds, 1 contestant conveys to the other, clues for each of the 7 items belonging to that category. The clue-giver uses whatever language desired, with the exception of saying any word that is part of the correct answer. If desired, visual gestures can also be used by the clue-giver. One point is scored for each item guessed correctly in their chosen category. The other team then follows with their opportunity by choosing a different category and proceeding in similar manner as the first team. This completes 1 round. Depending upon time, anywhere between 1 to 3 rounds can be played.

Whichever team wins the main game by having the most points, plays the next portion of the game, “The Winners Circle.” This is where one team member provides clues to 6 categories on the pyramid, while the other attempts to correctly identify each of them, all within 60 seconds. If all 6 categories are guessed correctly before time runs out, both contestants win the grand prize and the game comes to an end. If not, they receive a prize based on the number of correct answers. Either way, The Pyramid Challenge is a lot of fun for both contestants and the audience.

The Wheel of Bad Fortune

While this blockbuster of a game, The Wheel of Bad Fortune, has 3 contestants, the audience can collaborate with them during the “Bad Fortune” phase that makes the game even more fun and exciting. This is how it works: when it’s a contestant’s turn, they guess a letter or a vowel in the unknown puzzle. If correct, they must face the fate of the The Wheel of Bad Fortune. After the wheel begins spinning, the player shouts “stop” when they want the wheel to come to a halt. If it stops on 200 – that’s simple – the player easily receives 200 points, and is given the option of solving the puzzle.

Here comes the tough part: When the wheel stops, the outrageous challenge must be successfully accomplished by the contestant in order for the 200 points to be granted and to be given the option of solving the puzzle. Back to good news again: audience members can assist players in accomplishing their challenges, which is great for team building and in establishing comradery. Whoever solves the puzzle first, reigns as champion!

More good news, all of the “Bad Fortunes” can easily be customized prior to the start of the game once the demographics of the audience are known.
